I’m so excited to be your school counselor this year! My name is Ms. Medina, and I can’t wait to get to know each of you. I’m here to support you as you learn, grow, and reach your goals both inside and outside the classroom.

My office is a safe place where you can talk, ask for help, celebrate your successes, and learn new ways to handle challenges. I believe every student has unique strengths and incredible potential, and I’m excited to help each one shine. Let’s make this a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and lots of smiles. I can’t wait to meet you!


¡Estoy muy emocionada de ser su consejera escolar este año! Mi nombre es Ms. Medina, y estoy deseando conocer a cada uno de ustedes. Estoy aquí para apoyarlos mientras aprenden, crecen y alcanzan sus metas, tanto dentro como fuera del salón de clases.

Mi oficina es un lugar seguro donde pueden hablar, pedir ayuda, celebrar sus logros y aprender nuevas maneras de enfrentar los desafíos. Creo que cada estudiante tiene fortalezas únicas y un potencial increíble, y me emociona ayudar a que cada uno brille.

On-Campus Support and Counseling Services

 

Individual Counseling: Assist students experiencing difficulties in helping them deal with and work through problems that are negatively affecting their academic goals, interactions, and development. (Limited to 6 weeks)

Small Groups: Created in response to the campus needs to tackle issues such as friendship, study skills, and transitions.

Classroom Guidance: Consists of structured lessons designed to help all students achieve the desired social-emotional, developmental, academic, and career competencies at their developmental level. The school guidance curriculum is delivered according to the TEA Character Education Curriculum. 

Peer Mediation: Mediation to handle conflict calmly and restoratively.

Referrals: When necessary, referrals are made to other agencies or professionals who can provide services that extend beyond the school counseling program.

Consultation: Parents and teachers can consult the school counselor for strategies to help and support students.

If a student or parent is in a crisis/emergency, there are two avenues to connect with a trained crisis counselor:

1. Call: 713-556-1340

2. Text: "talk" to 741-741

The automated service will connect the student or parent with a crisis counselor. Note: This option is a 24/7, 365 emergency resource.)


Parents and teachers may refer students for counseling services, scanning the QR code for a Student Assistance Form (SAF) (or click on link)
